Class 175      Five pink cupped standard cultivars with white perianth from RHS Divisions 1, 2 and 3. This class is eligible for the Pink Collection Trophy.

Class 176      Five white standard cultivars from RHS Divisions 1, 2 and 3.This class is eligible for the White Collection Trophy.

Class 177      Five yellow standard cultivars from RHS Divisions 1, 2 and 3.This class is eligible for the Yellow Collection Trophy.

Class 178      Five red and/or orange cupped standard cultivars with colored perianth from RHS Divisions 1, 2, 3.This class is eligible for the Ben Hager Award.

Class 179      Five single floreted cultivars of intermediate sized daffodils from RHS Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4, 11 or 12. Bloom is normally between 1.5 and 3 inches in diameter.

Class 180      Five daffodil cultivars of American breeding. See rule #5. This class is eligible for the ADS Red-White-Blue Ribbon.

Class 181      Five standard daffodil cultivars with perianth predominantly yellow, cup predominantly white. This class is eligible for the ADS Maroon Ribbon.

Class 182      Five standard daffodil cultivars that originated in the same country (not USA).

Class 183      Twelve cultivars and/or species from not less than 4 divisions. This class is eligible for the ADS Bozievich Ribbon.

Class 184      Twelve standard daffodils from at least three RHS divisions 5 through 10. This class is eligible for the Havens Ribbon.

Class 185      Fifteen cultivars and/or species from fifteen different RHS classifications. COLOR CODE IS REQUIRED. This class is eligible for the ADS Throckmorton Ribbon.

Class 186      Twenty-four cultivars and/or species from at least five RHS divisions. This class is open to ADS members only. This class is eligible for the ADS Quinn Ribbon. First time winners may receive the Silver Quinn Medal. Former winners receive the Quinn Ribbon.

 

SECTION J - MINIATURE DAFFODIL COLLECTIONS

Class 187     Five cultivars or seedlings, one stem each (no species). This class is eligible for the ADS Lavender Ribbon.

Class 188     Five cultivars, seedlings, or species, one stem each. This class is eligible for the ADS Lavender Ribbon.

Class 189     Five cultivars or seedlings of American breeding, one stem each. See Rule #5. This class is eligible for the ADS Miniature Red-White-Blue Ribbon.

Class 190     Twelve cultivars and/or species of miniature daffodils from at least three RHS divisions. This class is open to ADS members only. This class is eligible for the ADS Watrous Ribbon. First time winners may receive the Silver Watrous Medal. Former winners receive the Watrous Ribbon.

Class 191     Three miniature daffodils, three stems each. This class is eligible for the Miniature Challenge Award.

 

SECTION K - CONTAINER-GROWN DAFFODILS - Blooms are to be grown in and exhibited in a container or pot. All bulbs in any one container shall be of the same cultivar or species. Container-grown daffodils may be grown in protected areas. No bloom or exhibit in this section shall be eligible for any ADS award other than the ADS awards for container-grown daffodils. Rule #15 is extended to permit subdividing classes by daffodil division.

Class 192   Standard daffodils – named cultivars or seedlings, no species

Class 193   Miniature daffodils – named cultivars or seedlings, no species

Class 194   Species and species hybrid daffodils. Both standards and miniatures are permitted.

 

SECTION L - HISTORIC DAFFODILS - This section is open to all cultivars, i.e., not species, introduced or in gardens before 1940. All cultivars shall be labeled with name, division number, and year of registration (or introduction) as listed in the ADS Daffodil Data Bank. No bloom in this section shall be eligible for any ADS award other than the ADS ribbon for Pre-1940 Cultivar. Rule #15 is extended to permit subdividing Classes 194 and 195 by daffodil division or registration date.

Class 200     Three stems each of twelve cultivars and/or species of standard daffodils from at least three divisions. This class is eligible for the Tuggle Ribbon.

Class 201     Three stems each of five cultivars and/or species of miniature daffodils from at least three divisions. This class is eligible for the Miniature Bronze Ribbon.

 

 

ARTISTIC DESIGN DIVISION

 

Artistic Design Rules

1.            The Artistic Design Section is open to all.

2.            Only one entry per class per exhibitor is allowed for a total of six entries per exhibitor.

3.            NO fresh plant material may be treated in any way. Treated dried material is permissible.

4.            NO artificial plant material is allowed.

5.            Daffodils must predominate in all arrangements.

6.            Judging will be done by a judge or judges qualified by the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc. All decisions are final.

4.            Exhibits must be left in place until the close of each show. Exhibitors should pick up their accessories or arrange for someone else to claim them by 5 pm (Livermore) or 4 pm (Murphys) on Sunday.

 

Class      AR 1               March Wind - a horizontal arrangement

AR 2   Interaction - depicting complex motion

AR 3   Spring Symphony - a parallel design reflecting serenity

AR 4   The Sky’s the Limit - a vertical arrangement

AR 5   East or West, Daffodils are Best - reflecting an oriental influence

AR 6   Pot-et-fleur - two or more rooted plants growing in a suitable container accented by an arrangement of flowers, accenting daffodils. All must be in the same container.

 

A Best of Show will be awarded for the most outstanding exhibit in the Artistic Arrangements Division. The Calaveras Cup, a traveling trophy, will be awarded to the highest scoring arrangement done by a Calaveras County Garden Club member.
