NCDS October Potluck and Bulb Party

Our end-of-year social is set for Sunday, October 18 at the Alden Lane Nursery in Livermore. The time is 11:30am to 4pm. There are two parts to the Party: the bulb sale and the potluck meal. There will be hundreds of bulbs of garden and show varieties donated by the commercial daffodil growers who support our NCDS activities. The bulbs will be individually sacked with name and color-code written. They will be sold at $2 each. This is the NCDS fund-raiser, so buy as many tickets as you can afford each ticket will get you a bulb of your choice. Bulbs in the sale will have catalog value as high as $15! Following the sale, there will be an auction of exceptional bulbs either those needing explanation of its type or needed care, or those whose catalog value is $15 or more.

Following the sale, we'll bid farewell to 2009 NCDS social activities with a potluck meal. Please bring whatever special dish you like to prepare enough to serve 8 persons. Jan Moyers, as always, gets the task of bringing her delicious smoked turkey - so anticipate that! Ironstone Vineyards will supply wine. In addition, there will be coffee, beer and soft drinks (including diet). NCDS will furnish paper plates, cups, cutlery, and serviettes.

If you haven't come to the fall Party before do come this year. Daffodil folks like most garden/plant people are most enjoyable. Please come and meet us! And bring friends because the NCDS always needs new members!
